ABOUT CRISTY

Cristy Verdeja Zaldívar is a seasoned communications professional with more than a decade of experience. Her expertise spans across the CPG, finance, healthcare, media, nonprofit and tech sectors. She has supported Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits and startups and has found that the thread that binds is a desire to authentically and effectively share a point of view that makes an impact.

Cristy has a passion for diversity & inclusion and has dedicated much of her career to inclusive marketing focused on the multicultural community – Hispanics, Black Americans and Asian Americans. This passion is personal as she is a bilingual Cuban-American that identifies closely with her heritage.

Most recently, Cristy was part of global PR agency, Golin, an Interpublic Group company. During her three years there, she was responsible for spearheading media programs that connected some of the world’s largest brands – including Carnival Corporation, Discover, McDonald’s and Walmart - to consumers. Known as a trusted client liaison, strategic counselor and respected team leader, Cristy was often tapped for support company-wide to provide direction on media, audiences and opportunities with an emphasis on diversity and multicultural across North America and South America.

Prior to that, she served on the leadership team at Pinta, a full service integrated communications firm focused on inclusive marketing. While there, she launched T-Mobile’s Un-carrier platform in the Hispanic market, Amazon’s influencer marketing program for owned consumer electronics including Kindle e-readers, Fire tablets, Fire TV and Echo and a concert series at Terra with artists such as J Balvin, Farruko and Luis Fonsi.

She was with Pinta for more than seven years having worked with the company when it was under the umbrella of JeffreyGroup. While there, she worked in house at spirits conglomerate, Diageo and their many brands including Johnnie Walker where she led their consumer engagement events. Following that, she supported FOX’s Hispanic media platform working on National Geographic’s Nat Geo Mundo channel. She also worked with a number of tech brands, including Inmarsat and Western Digital, startups such as AirPocket, finance-focused clients including international organization, FIBA and more.

Cristy holds an MBA from Florida International University. She attended the University of Miami for her undergraduate degree where she earned a BSc with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a BFA in Spanish.

She resides in Miami, FL with her husband and two sons.
